About Phoenix Independence
BSc (Hons), PGDip, Occupational Therapist; founder of Phoenix Independence
Joanne has worked as an Occupational Therapist for over 13 years since qualifiying from the University of Liverpool in 1999 with a 2:1 BSc (Hons) degree in Occupational Therapy.
Post graduation Joanne worked for the NHS in a variety of roles. Joanne initially worked at The Walton Centre in Liverpool - a Regional Centre of Excellence for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Joanne also worked at The University of Aintree Hospital, a busy acute Teaching Hospital where she worked on the general medical wards and the acute Medical Assessment Unit. Following this Joanne re-located to Oxford and worked at The Radcliffe Infirmary in a number of clinical roles including Neuro Rehabiliation, Pain Management, Paediatrics, and Burns and Plastics. She also supervised a team of Neurological Occupational Therapists whist at the Radcliffe Infirmary.
Joanne moved back to the North West in 2003, and has worked in the Community/Social Services setting since, working with Children, Adults and Older People.
Joanne completed a Post Graduate Diploma in 2005 from The University of Salford in Accessibility and Inclusive Design.
Joanne has been working for a Private Occupational Therapy Company for the last 4 years prior to setting up her own Independent Practice.
Joanne is a member of the British Assosciation of Occupational Therapy
Joanne is registered with The Health Professions Council (HPC)
Joanne is also a member of the College of Occupational Therapists
